Janice Marie Brown (Johnson), born in Elaine, Arkansas, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. As the matriarch of her family, her absence leaves a profound void that cannot be measured, and she will be deeply missed.
Janice was a proud graduate of the Arkansas State University at Jonesboro where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Over the years, she worked for AT&T and H&R Block, but her greatest and most cherished role was being a devoted mother to her four daughters.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick Dale Brown; their son, Jeffrey Dale Brown; her parents, Ludie Mae and Rogerline Johnson; and her sister, Anita Johnson.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters: Alicia (Rick), Kimberly, Valerie, and Melanie (Jamie). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Milysha, Marissa, Brenton, and Jayden; her precious great-granddaughter, Arielle; and her siblings: Cathy (Charles), Karen, Rogerline Jr. (Sheila), Charlotte (Michael), and Stephen (Rebecca). She will also be remembered fondly by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Janice loved the Lord and her family deeply. Known for her warmth, hospitality, and servant’s heart, she was always creating something special, whether baking for her loved ones, volunteering in church ministries, or helping lead programs such as Vacation Bible School. She was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio, where she lived out her faith through service and love.
Funeral Service 11 am Friday, October 10, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3375 W. Siebenthaler Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, OH. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
Her legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
