James W. Williams

James Wiley Williams Sr., born June 20, 1943, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories. After dedicating 30 years to General Motors, he embraced retirement with the same passion he applied to his work.

James is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geraldine Williams; his sister, Teressa Courington (Freeman Brownlow Jr.-deceased); his son, James Wiley Williams Jr.; and his mother, Hattie Blow. He is also preceded by many beloved family members and friends dear to his heart.

James is survived by his loving son, Hustus Scott Williams, and daughter-in-law April Williams, and his daughter, Kimberly Lynn Tolliver, Grandchildren Christena Williams,
Jamica Sails (John Sails III), Dr. Cierra Williams, James Williams III, and Jaison Williams, as well as a special niece and nephew, Dennis Courington and Dr. Diane Courington. 

He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and other cherished family members who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He will be remembered fondly by his beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many dear family and friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for those close to him.
James was a man of great strength, character, and devotion to his family. He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral service 11 am Monday, January 6, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment Greencastle Cemetery.
