Jacquelyn Coley Lewis, age 67, went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at her residence.
Jacquelyn was born May 16, 1954, in Oneida, Arkansas. She attended Lakeview High School and graduated with honors. Post her high school graduation, she attended the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff located in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1977. She was a proud member of the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Girls Majorette team.
Jacquelyn retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles, Atlanta, Georgia with 16 years of service. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, drawing, designing and decorating homes, shopping, and helping others.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Elvira Coley; sisters, Ernestine Coley, Beatrice D. Dolphin and Gladys B. Cousin; sister-in-law, Daisy Coley.
Jacquelyn leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted son, Philip Anthony Lewis of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers and sisters, James Coley, Harden (Arden) Coley, Susan Thompson, Patricia Oldham, all of Dayton, Delores Martin of Buffalo, New York, Dorothy (Alton) Parks of Nashville, Tennessee; devoted friends, Michael Pryor and LaVon Love; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Graveside service will be held 11 am Tuesday, April 19, at Shiloh Park Cemetery, 5479 Philadelphia Dr., Dayton, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
