Ida Delores Amos Jackson, a cherished and lifelong resident of Dayton, OH, was born on March 27, 1949 to the late Deacon Howard L. and Elizabeth Amos. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the age of 76.
Ida was a member of Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church. Ida pursued her passions, earned her bachelor’s degree from Capital University, and enjoyed traveling.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin Jackson Jr.; sister, Hortense Cartwright.
Cherishing her memory are her daughters, Sandra (Ken) Durgans, Tracee (Greg) Stone, and Lisa Johnstone; sister, Darlene Routhier; granddaughters, Mya Coleman and Taylor Stone; grandsons, Mason Coleman and Marshall Coleman; many beloved relatives and friends including lifelong friend, Jenice Dunlap.
Ida leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories. Her spirit and love for those around her will never be forgotten.
Celebration of Life 11 am Friday, March 6, 2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Calling hour 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends.
