Henry Young Obituary

Henry Charles Young departed this life peacefully at the age of 93 on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton.  He left us with the comfort of knowing he would see the Lord and his loved ones again. Henry was born on February 26, 1932 to the late Marvin Young Sr. and Idella Bridges Young. Henry was one of 10 children born in Georgia.

On March 10, 1973 he was joined in marriage with Claudia Ann. He retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. He was a professional painter by trade. If you needed a tidy and fast painter, Henry was your man. Henry was always in the right place at the right time.

Henry did not meet a stranger. He had the type of personality that would light up a room. He was known for his sharp suits and nice cars. He loved having family over for Friday Night Fish Fry and Fourth of July barbecues.

His life was structured around love for his family, friends, and most of all the church. Henry was a faithful and dedicated member of Shiloh Baptist Church for over 70 years. He sang with the King Male Chorus for many years. He was also a trustee until his health began to fade.

He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Claudia Ann Young; seven brothers and one sister.

Henry leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Randall Young Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Mark Young of Dayton, OH, and Kevin Young of Dayton, OH; daughter, Annette Remson of Dayton, OH; brother, Tim Young of Atlanta, GA;  grandchildren, Randall Young Jr., Keydrome Tapp, Ashley Kinsey, Rachel Young and Tiarhira Glover; great grandchildren, Marcus Jr. and Myles Kinsey, Tamia, Haley, and Zyria Jackson, Josiah, Nyla and Kyla Tapp;  sisters-in-law, Jinnie Young and Audrey Young of Atlanta, GA; Barbara (Sherman) Lane of Eastaboga, AL; and Earlene Christian of Broadview, IL; devoted friends, Royal Starks and Ann Mitchell; devoted neighbor, Joyce Davis; special nieces, Gloria Blackmon and Thelma Wright; special cousins, Jasmine Edwards, Brenda Smith and Antoinnette Nelloms; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him.
