Henrie R. Brown

Henrie Ruth Brown, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021. She was born February 28, 1921 in Claiborne County, Mississippi to the late Mary and Sidney Rowan, and was a resident of Dayton the majority of her life.

She retired from Patterson Kennedy Elementary School as a Paraprofessional. She loved to crochet, travel and spend time with family. She was a member of St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church where she was the mother of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Brown; daughter, Marcia Armstrong; son, Jay T. Brown; brothers, Leroy Rowan, Bernard Rowan, Oliver Wendell Rowan and Hermie Rowan; sisters, Lillian Moore, Thelma Garrison, Essie Bass and Josie Clarke.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Patricia Allbritton; sons, Waymon (Shelia) Williams and Leroy (Francine) Armstrong; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, June 18, at St. Timothy M. B. Church, 4466 Free Pike. Rev. Dr. Lysander Nelms officiating. Visitation 10 am until time of service. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
