In Loving Memory of Helen S. McClure born on June 27, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama, departed on November 11, 2023, was a woman of unwavering faith at the age of 88 to be with our Lord and Savior.
She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in early childhood education from Wilberforce University. Her passion for education led her to teach special education for 35 years. Helen also devoted her time to teaching Sunday school, sharing her love for the Lord with others.
Helen will forever be remembered as a devoted mother and sister, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Brewster McClure, with whom she shared a profound love for the Lord, family, and a lifetime companionship.
She is survived by her loving children, Karen (Davis) Jackson, Michelle Baber, Robin (Chad) Starks, Jeffrey Jackson and Phillip A.J. (Sheila) Mack; her dear sister, Lillie Whitelow. As a great, great grandmother, grandmother, leaving also nieces and nephews a source of inspiration and wisdom for all fortunate enough to learn from her. A guiding light that touched the lives of everyone.
Funeral service 11 am Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Mt. Zion AOH Church of God, 12 College St., Dayton, Ohio. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Preble Memory Garden Cemetery, West Alexandria, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
