It is with profound sadness, that I share the passing of my best friend and loving husband:
Harry Louis Robinson Sr.
Harry passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and strength that will continue to guide all who knew him.
Born on July 5, 1945 and raised in Sewanee Tennessee, he grew into a man by his deep loyalty, his steady presence and the way he made life better simply by being a part of it. He married the love of his life Tonya with whom he shared 42 years of partnership, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their life together was built on mutual respect, shared dreams and a bond that remained strong through it all.
Harry was known for his kindness, humor, work ethics and most of all his patience. He truly enjoyed Miller High Life, listening to the blues and dancing. He loved riding his motorcycle, washing his cars/truck, mowing, yard work and able to fix or build anything. He always offered a lending hand to anyone who needed it, or offering a few words of wisdom at just the right moment, he had a way of making people feel seen and supported.
He took great pride and enjoyment in his retirement from General Motors Truck and Bus after 30 years of service. A graduate of Townsend High School in Winchester Tennessee. He was a man who showed his care not through grand gestures but through his everyday acts of kindness and love.
His greatest joy came from those most close to his heart.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Lacy and John Childress; sister and brother-in-law Carolyn (John) Hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Tonya R. Robinson (Gaines); 3 sons, Harry L. Robinson Jr., Eric B. Robinson Sr. (Chatan), Lionel D. Gaines (LaToya); 1 daughter, Amber D. Robinson; 7 grandchildren, Tiera, Ariana, Eric Jr., Jada, Erian, Landyn, Lauryn; 6 great grandchildren, Easton, Aubree, Brian Jr., Eric lll, Journey, Layla; brother, John Childress; niece, Sonya L Robinson; nephew, Aundrey Holman; sister-in-law, Lisa (Phillip) Talley, Brother-in-law, Melvin M Morris; along with a host of extended relatives and friends, who will forever cherish his memories and carry his spirit forward.
Though his absence leaves an ache that words cannot fill, the love he gave remains steady, enduring and woven into the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
We would like to say Thank you to Hospice of Dayton and a very special heart felt thank you to Dr. Tarek Sabagh (Nurse’s and staff).
