Gloria Hall Obituary

Gloria Jean Preston-Hall transitioned from this world to everlasting life, surrounded by family on July 7, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of faith and love. She was born in Waynesboro, MS to the late parents, George E. Preston Sr. and Cassie Mae Robinson-Couzens.

“Glo’ Jean” as she was fondly called by family, was the first thriving grandchild of the Robinson Clan. The Alpha, beginning, the very first of the Blessed Grandchildren; her dear cousins. She was special amongst the Tribe, and she absolutely knew it quite well. She became a lifetime Daytonian at the early age of six after moving from Shubuta, MS. Gloria Jean was a proud 1969 Roosevelt H.S., Teddy’s Alumni. She often would brag about the Teddy’s prowess in sports, state championships in track & field, football, and basketball. She would become so animated and excited, reminiscing about those good ole days passed by.

Gloria was employed at WONE Radio as a Receptionist for many years until her disability retirement. It was there where she had the pleasure of meeting many celebrities. So much so, she counted herself as one!

She was considered a treasure, great access of warm hospitality, welcoming smile, effervescent; the face the Radio station wanted the public to see when they walked through the doors.

Gloria Jean was a faithful and dedicated Kingdom Citizen in the Body of Christ at Ark Ministries Intl., under the Pastorate of Brother-In-Love, Pastor Gregory A. Parker. While on her spiritual journey it was a Blessing to behold her growing Stronger, Wiser and Better. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God.

After much heartache and loss, Gloria was blessed with a present-day Boaz, her husband, the late great Algie Hall Jr. He was the personification of the joy God had promised.

Gloria Jean was known for her spirit of compassion and empathy borne out of her own life’s trials, shortcomings, and challenges. Her humor and heartily laughter was infectious! Health issues limited her ability to engage in the things she loved, which include, Jazz in the parks, WW Wrestling exhibitions, gardening, and her hobbies in recent years were shopping online, shopping online, and shopping online!

She is preceded in death by her biological father, George Preston; Daddy, Willard Couzens; mother, Cassie Mae; husband, Algie Hall Jr.; her dear daughter, Kenya Preston; brothers, George Preston and Tonny Couzens; sisters, Loretta Candler and Brenda Couzens; and her grandson, Michael “ManMan” Griffith Jr,

Gloria Jeans leaves to cherish her memory and legacy her devoted son, Michael Preston Sr. (Tamra); darling daughters, Teresa Jones, Algiena (Edward) Julian and Tamar Heard; “Nana’s Grandchildren” as she would affectionately call them, Nikolaus Foeckler, Tyisha Griffith, Naquillah Foeckler, Aaron Hammond, Tianna Preston, Michael Preston Jr., Sydnee, Seleste, and Selene Burks, and Jennifer Mangham; great-grandchildren, Michael and Naielle Embrey, Acari, Avari, and Tatumn Hammond, and Khy'air Herring; sisters, Nancy Mukes, Sherri Couzens-Lee, and Judy Parker (Gregory); special beloved nephew, Jordan Couzens; Special Cousin, Frederick Robinson (Sara); and a host of nephew & nieces.
