Glenda Newsome was born in Dayton, Ohio, on May 19, 1958 to the late David and Rosalie Newsome. After a lengthy illness God called her home on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
She was affectionately known as Sweetie by her siblings. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. She resided in Dayton, Ohio the majority of her life and was a graduate of the University of Akron Ohio Culinary School of Art.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Rosalie Newsome.
She leaves to cherish her memory, 1 son, Jarvell (Shannon) Brown of Hesperia, California; three sisters, Dora (Wyndell) Lewis of NC, Julia (Andrew) Jones of Trotwood, Ohio, Mary Williams of Centerville, Ohio; 1 brother, Bennie T. Jones of Vandalia, Ohio; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Glenda will surely be missed.
Funeral service 1 pm Thursday, February 27, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 11 am- 1 pm. Family will receive friends 12 pm- 1 pm.
