Gladys Hoskins Obituary

Gladys Jerutha Hoskins passed away on April 13, 2025 after a brief illness. Gladys was born in Wrightsville, Georgia to the late Edward Clover and Algie Jordan. At the age of three, her family relocated to Dayton, Ohio where she lived for the remainder of her life. Gladys retired from General Motors after 30+ years of service but remained active in the local union serving as secretary until her untimely passing.

In addition to her parents, Gladys is also preceded in death by her three sisters, Alberta Pooler, Viola Farmer, and Naomi Clover; and three brothers, Therion Clover, Will Lee Clover, and Eddie Mack Clover.

Gladys leaves to mourn her beloved sister, Bernice Johnson (Charles) of Troy Ohio; her four children, Sharon KD Hoskins, Rhonda Bush, and Marvin Hoskins – all of Atlanta, Georgia and her devoted, dutiful son, Dawayne “Stevie” Hoskins of Dayton, Ohio; grieving are her four grandsons, John Bush, Todd Hoskins (Kionna), Tyler Hoskins, and Jared Bush --- all of Atlanta, GA; her granddaughter, Sydney Hoskins, of Seattle, Washington; two very special nephews especially feel her loss, Derrick Jackson of Trotwood, Ohio and James “Greg” Clover of Dayton, Ohio; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who along with her family will continue to treasure her memory. The family shares this timely message with all who are mourning with us:

“Christ has been raised up from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep in death. For since death is through a man, resurrection of the dead is also through a man. For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.”
