Gerald L. Farmer “Farmer”, age 79, of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. Farmer was born in Dayton, OH and served in the United States Army, then worked as a General Motors employee until his retirement. Farmer never knew a stranger, as he had a great sense of humor and enjoyed watching all sports. He coached Meadowdale HS basketball from 2012-2013. Farmer will truly be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annamae Ward Farmer; father, John M. Farmer; sister, Bridget R. Farmer.
Farmer is survived by his living brothers, Gregory B. Farmer, Michael (Joan) Farmer; daughters, Qiana (Tasha) Patterson, Yolanda Farmer; sons, Gerald Farmer Jr., Joshua Farmer, Johntay Farmer, Kevin (Jacquelle) Ferguson, Ronnie (Marsha) Farmer, Anthony Farmer; special nephew, Michael Farmer Jr.; special friends, Wanda Bradshaw and Kimberly Farmer; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Funeral service 11 am Thursday, October 10, 2024 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
