Geneva R. (Olinger-Wilson) Snow, 91, of Dayton, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, July 6, 2018. She was a faithful member of Good Samaritan Baptist Church. Geneva was born, one of 13 children, on February 27, 1927 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late John S. and Lizzie Olinger. She was a graduate of Hazard High School. She retired from Sears and Roebuck, after many years of service. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Brownie Wilson, father of her children, and James Snow; brothers, Brisco, Elbert, Dewey, Emerson, and Wallace Olinger; sisters, Ola Combs, Blanche Combs, Alpha Kidd, Emma Taylor and Beulah Olinger; step daughter, Jeannie Snow; grandson, Blyth Polk. Geneva leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Warnetta (Robert) Jackson, Jan Polk, and son, Brownie (Marsha) Wilson; step children, Terry Smith, James and Patrick Snow; grandchildren, Lanetta (Timothy) Tyus, Robert (Lori) Jackson, Deidre Wilson, Devon (Terri Ann) Polk, Derek (Vanessa) Wilson; great grandchildren, Dadrion, Dondre, Israel, Isaiah, Trevon, LaMiyah, and honorary great granddaughter, Isabella; brothers, Bill (Stella) Olinger and Anthony (Naomi) Olinger; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Olinger; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Jeff Parks officiating. Visitation 8:30 am until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
