WALTON, Fred, born February 16, 1946, died suddenly Sunday, May 31, 2020. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him. He attended Jackson Elementary School and Nettie Lee Roth High School, graduating in June 1965. He was drafted into the U.S. Army right after high school. This was during the Vietnam era but fortunately he was sent to Germany. Fred spent 42 years with the City of Dayton working most of the time in Waste Collection. During 15 years of that same time, he also worked another job with Dayton Power & Light. Some people have said he was somewhat of a workaholic. Fred leaves to mourn his loss, girlfriend, Connie Allen; sister, Patricia (Pat) Tucker-Dolan; brother, Granville “Garvey” “Granny” Walton Jr.; cousins, David Gilbert, Lonnie Gilbert, Adrian Goff, Lewis Ellis; nephews, Kenneth Tucker, Keith Tucker; great nephew, Storm Tucker; great nieces, Sera Tucker, Alia Tucker, Jaedon Tucker; step son, Charles Wilcox; best friends, Tederryl and Tonjua James, Graig and Linda Holloways, Jimmy and Glenda Hill, Clarence Williams, Larry Williams, Debra Redd, Lawrence Gowen; and a host of City of Dayton friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Granville Walton Sr.; mother, Mary Elizabeth Walton; brother, Richard Lamarr Walton. Walk-through visitation 9-11 am Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Private Service. Interment 9 am Wednesday, June 10, at Dayton National Cemetery.
