Emma L. Manson

Emma Lou Manson, born November 7, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, the second of six children born to Timothy J. and Helen V. Manson, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the age of 84.

She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and later attended Sinclair Community College and Antioch College where she earned degrees in Criminal Law, Psychology and Business. She worked for the United States Postal Service where she retired after years of service. Emma enjoyed watching her soaps, writing, reading, doing taxes, talking to friends and family on the phone and drinking coca cola.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Timothy J. and Helen V. Manson of Dayton; sons, Ronald L. Parker Jr., Norman R. Hughes Jr. and Roger E. Hughes, all of Dayton; sister, Mildred F. Hicks of Fresno, CA. Shortly after her passing, her brother, Richard A. Manson and sister, Mary Jo Cook, both of Dayton.

She leaves to cherish her memory, brother, Timothy R. Manson, Sr.; sister, Delores E. Manson, both of Dayton; daughters, Sheila V. Blaine of Bowling Green, KY, Lavita J. Manson of Dayton, and Norchelle R. Hughes of Phoenix, AZ; ten grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; special grandsons, Roger T. (Latasha) Blaine, Tirez L. (Denetria Twitty) Jamison, Sr.; special great grandsons, Tirez L. Jamison (Darnell Shaw) Jr. and Zhy’Air Jamison.

Walk-through visitation 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. (Mask Required). Due to Covid restrictions, the family will hold a Private Service at 11 am. Entombment Woodland Mausoleum.
