Ellis Hutchinson, Jr.

Ellis Hutchinson, Jr., age 71, passed away Friday, July 2, 2021 at Grandview Hospital. He was a native of Dayton, Ohio, and a community activist. Ellis was a graduate of Roth High School (1968), the University of Dayton (1989), and devoted his life to helping better his community. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Hutchinson, Sr. and mother, Elizabeth (Edmonds) Hutchinson; eldest sister, Mary (Hutchinson) Martin; nephew, Brian Randolph.

Survivors include his sons, Christopher Hutchinson of Atlanta, Georgia, and Gregory A. (Walma) Hutchinson of Port St. Lucie, Florida; wonderful grandchildren, Benjamin and Rosalia Hutchinson; loving sister, Veada Randolph; mother of his sons, Diane Hutchinson; loving nephews, Eric (April) Hutchinson, Duane Hutchinson, TJ (Ashley) Martin, Randy (Michelle) Randolph, Kevin Randolph; devoted friend, Gaile McLemore; a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Calling hours 10 am-12 pm Friday, July 9, at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Family will receive friends 11 am-12 pm. Private Memorial Service.
