Ella Wese Gamble was born to the late Walter Sibert and Ida Reed Sibert on July 8, 1936 in Hodges, South Carolina. She was educated in the Greenwood County School System. She attended Brewer High School.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Pine Grove AME Church in Hodges, South Carolina.
Ella relocated from Greenwood to Dayton in 1957. She met and married her late husband, Marvin. She was employed at the VA Medical Center and due to a fall was retired in 1978.
She united with St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church in November 1988. She was a member of the St. Timothy Missionary Society and was diligent in working in the kitchen, cooking and serving families for funerals. It was something she really enjoyed doing for others. She also attended Sunday School and Church Services until her health began to fail.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, stepfather, Lucious Starks Sr., siblings Matthew and Robert Sibert and Emma Bennett. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Gerome Childs, Antonellia Sibert and Bartholomew (Diedre) Gamble all of Dayton, her siblings, James K. (Roberta) Sibert of Dayton, and Ida Mae Clark of Philadelphia, PA., seven grandchildren, Sherod Smith, Barton Gamble, LaShay Gamble and Denver McIntyre, Bruce (Ashley) Moman, Aja Moman and Glee Lane, 21 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Mary Gamble of Shiloh, GA and a brother-in-law, Walter Johnson of Lithonia, GA, her adopted daughter Jackie Mosley of Hodges, SC, a very dear friend of many years Christine Grant and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service 11 am Monday, February 5, 2024 at St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church, 4466 Free Pike, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
