Dwight Anderson was born March 4, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. He fell asleep on February 5, 2025 and he is now resting in the Lord until our Heavenly Father returns for his children.
Dwight was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, class of 1969, and he retired as a Lieutenant for the City of Dayton Fire Department. Dwight, a man of many gifts and talents, was also a retired Licensed Massage Therapist and Phlebotomist. Dwight loved and enjoyed fishing and traveling until his health challenges brought that season to an end.
As a member of Restored Life Ministries in Springfield, Ohio for over 40 yrs, under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Larry D. Coleman and Servant Jermain Maynard, he served as the Chairman of the Deacon Board, a teacher at the Sunday School, a member of the Mass Choir and the Men’s Chorus, as a well as the Ohio Delegation Mass Choir of Dayton. In the later season of Dwight’s life, he became a member of Encounter Church Ministries of Dayton Ohio, where Rev. Raliegh Thornton Jr. is Pastor, and he served as a Deacon, a Bible Study Teacher, and an Elder of the Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; 2 daughters, Tausha and Marsha.
He leaves to cherish his memory his best friend and wife of 52 years, Geraldine Anderson; 2 sons, Terrance Coleman and Che’ Mobley; 1 sister, Diane Costner; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends, and a special, exceptional friend, James Love.
Dwight will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peaceful sleep until we meet again.
Private service Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum.
