Dr. Alvin E. Hall, Sr. transitioned from life on earth into the eternal presence of God on December 21, 2023. He was born on July 31,1939 to William Allen Hall and Amelia Beverly Hall in Dayton, OH.
His academic background included a Bachelor's degree from Wright State University, Master's degree from Central Michigan and a Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University.
Alvin spent over fifty years in Management in both public and private organizations. He was the Founder/Chairman of the Board of STI Technologies, Inc., Vice President of Wheeling Jesuit University, Senior Executive Director of EG&G and Senior Manager of Mound. He was the recipient of many awards and honors including a Presidential Accommodation from the President of the United States for his community involvement efforts as the founder of Encouragement For Youth Education (EYE), and Boss of the Year from the American Business Womens Association.
He was a man of great faith which never wavered throughout his life. In fact, his faith was the source of his perseverance, resolve, and positive attitude and approach to life. He helped numerous people through life – offering inspirational advice, insights, direction, financial support and prayers.
Alvin enjoyed many things: football, reading, singing, traveling, music, popcorn, and movies but most of all spending time with family (both biological and community-based). He was the epitome of hard work, academic excellence, support in action and continuous love. He left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and daughter, Renee. Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted wife, Deatria (Dee) and his grateful and blessed children, Alvin, Jr. (Tina), Yvette (Antonio), Deborah, Cynthia, Justin, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and friends.
Our love for Alvin will remain in our hearts forever. It is beyond what man can define. Love is immortal and God’s gift of Alvin was divine.
Funeral service 11 am Friday, January 5, 2024, at Phillips Temple CME Church, 3620 Shiloh Spring Rd, Trotwood, Ohio. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
