Douglas Anthony Grigsby Crutcher was born on April 17, 1975, in Dayton, Ohio, to Saadia A. Grigsby Crutcher and Larry L. Crutcher, Sr. He was the eldest of three brothers. Douglas departed this life on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the age of 50.
Douglas was a proud graduate of Belmont High School and continued his education at Lincoln College, where he earned his certification as a medical assistant. He dedicated his professional life to serving others, working as an insurance coder for Good Samaritan Hospital, CareSource Insurance, and an ambulance service in Indiana.
It is with deep gratitude that we share Douglas’s love for the Lord. He was a faithful member of Omega Baptist Church, where his spirit and devotion were evident.
Douglas was preceded in death by his beloved mother; his brother, Larry L. Crutcher Jr.; and his grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his father; his brother, Jéan S. (Latoya) Crutcher of Florida; his fiancé; Marquette, nephews; Elijah, Jéan (Jay), aunts; Janet Coffe, Rosalind (Rev. Ronald) Harris, Collette, Kamala, Elisha, Monique, and Ginnia (Todd) Tristan, uncle; Jamal, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, and cousins; including Lasandra, Jéanya, and Samaria Crutcher, Marsheena Nash (Terrance), Terra and Tyrone Hunt, Shronda Harris, LeToya (Charles) Pickett, Amani, Julian (Haley) Tristan, LeKista, Dante Horn, Cynthia (Brian) Partridge, Joel, Michael, and Steven King, dear family friend; Dawnyale along with many other relatives and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Omega Baptist Church, 1821 Emerson Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and service will follow. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
