Dorothy Mae Brown, more commonly referred to as Dot or Ms Dot or Grandma Dot, was born on November 3, 1944, in Daleville, Mississippi to Elijah and Blannie Brown. She attended Middleton Attendance Center High School. While in Meridian, MS, she had various jobs to help take care of her family and eventually had 4 of her 5 children. She moved her family, with the exception of Timothy, in 1974 to Dayton, Ohio where she made it her permanent home. Always a proud resident of Arlington Courts, Otterbein Ave, Rolling Circle, and Grand Ave where deep bonds and connections were made and continued until her departure. She was always the life of the party, a provider of a hot meal that kept family around and turned friends into family over the years. You were guaranteed to leave her presence smiling or flat out laughing because of something she had said or done. Dot’s presence will be truly missed by all that came into contact with her as she would say, “Be glad you knew me.” Dot, we are truly grateful that you were in all of our lives.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Blannie Brown Jr; sister, Bescenia Gator; sister, Gloria Anderson; brother, Charles Eugene Brown; son, Daniel Brown Sr.; niece, Brenda Brown; grandson, D’Amoto Brown and daughter-in-law, Pamela Brown.
