Doris J. Moon, age 80, of Dayton, Ohio departed this life her on earth on January 14, 2026 at her residence. She was born in Dunn, North Carolina on December 24, 1945 to Wendell and Lela Bernice Williams. Doris attended Harnett High School where she was a Majorette and Queen of Miss Music. Doris was married in holy matrimony to Donald Moon on November 15, 1968, to the union 4 beautiful children were born. Doris enjoyed traveling, visiting other Kingdom Halls, meeting friends and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doanld Moon; son, Donathan Moon; parents, Wendell Williams and Lela Bernice Stokes; sisters, Edith Geraldine Clark and Deborah Wiggins; brother, Pamellias Williams.
Doris leaves to cherish her memories 2 daughters, Darnella (Jimmy) Shorter and Donna Denise (Tony) Ruby; son, Donald (Mattrina) Moon; 10 grandchildren, Danyell Lanier, Donalle Moon, Diamond (Niko) Coleman, Daylan Lanier, Dyllan Moon, Johntay (Tray) Coleman, Damari Moon, Dawn Moon, TraKeith Watson, and Antonio Gilbert Jr.; 9 great grandchildren, Da’Nell Wilson, Da’Mya Wilson, Dionna Ward, Nevaeh Ward, Brileigh Brice, Ezra Kelly, Dallas Smith Dakota Lanier, and Justin Brown; 9 siblings, Jerome (Robin) Williams, Ralph (Joan) Williams, Sylvia (Dr. Earnest) Sanders, Mitchell (Marie) Williams, Donald (Denise) Williams, Cathy Williams, Angela Morgan, Ronald (Connie ) Stokes, and Ardonia Williams; brother-in-law, Milfred (Wanda) Moon; special cousin, Annie Pearl McNeilly; special friend, Sherry Bowers; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Funeral Service 11:30 Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11:30 am. Family will receive friends 10:30 am- 11:30 am. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
