Donald Martin Dixon, age 88, of Dayton, OH transitioned peacefully on Tuesday March 3, 2026.
Born on March 20, 1937, Donald entered the world as the second child of Francis and Rubin Dixon Sr., bringing with him a quiet strength and a generous heart.
A graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Class of 1955, and a student at Central State University West, Donald valued education and learning.
He proudly served as Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, where his bravery and guidance left a lasting mark on junior marines. He also received numerous medals for his performance in track and field during his enlistment. Donald also worked for many years as a dedicated employee of Chrysler Corporation before enjoying retirement.
He will always be a cherished father, brother, brother‑in‑law, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He leaves to honor his memory, a loving daughter, Donna Dixon; siblings: Rubin Dixon Jr., Charles Dixon (Connie), Richard Dixon (Judy), and Nancy Browning; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hatch; special cousin, Maxine Rutledge; special niece, Sharanda Hatch; a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Service 11 am Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Phillips Temple Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd., Trotwood, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am at which time family will receive friends. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
