Diana Louise Allen

Diana Louise Allen, age 79, of Dayton, Ohio, departed this life on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Diana was born on November 23, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Owen and Julia Dawson. She was a lifelong resident of Dayton and remained deeply rooted in her family and community throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Julia Dawson; her brother, Owen Dawson Jr.; her beloved husband, Jonathan Allen.

Diana leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Walter Frank Allen and Gregory Allen (wife, Nakkia Allen); her grandchildren, Tamisha Hunter, Waltiara Allen, Rian Keller, Julian Allen, and Christian Allen; her great-grandchildren, Keith Strickland III, Kingston Strickland-Allen, Tyler Bailey-Allen, Royce Carr, and Reece Carter.

She is also survived by her siblings, Timothy Dawson and Pamela Dawson-Manley; her sister-in-law, Betty Dawson; her nieces, Annota Dawson, Chandra Manley, and Ayanna Manley; her nephews, Owen Dawson III, Yahshua Manley, and Tenkera Manley. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews by marriage, as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews whom she loved dearly.

Diana was blessed with many meaningful friendships throughout her life. She shared close friendships with Barbara Felton and Tommie McGhee, and a special bond with her best friend, Anes Bruner. She is also reunited in eternal rest with dear friends who preceded her in death, George McFarland and Deborah Cooper.

Diana Louise Allen will be remembered for her strength, her love for family, and the legacy she leaves through generations.

Funeral Service 12 pm Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 12 pm. Family will receive friends 11 am- 12 pm.
