Constance Marshall Obituary

Constance S. Marshall, received her heavenly wings April 20, 2022. Connie was born in Georgetown, Ohio and raised in Ripley, Ohio. She eventually moved to Dayton, Ohio where she raised her children and built a large network of family and friends. She was touted as Queen Mother of Westwood. As a testament of her faith, she was a member of the First Baptist Church, Ripley, Ohio and also attended Greater Allen Church in Dayton, Ohio.

Connie started her working career at a young age. She was secretary at Byrd Elementary, Decatur, Ohio for 3 years, Adams & Brown County Agency Program (ABCAP) for eight years, prior to moving to Dayton. She spent 35 years supporting the students of Sinclair Community College in the Career Planning and Placement Department from where she retired. Those students would remember Ms. Marshall as kind and sweet, as she helped them identify their own career paths.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Madeline Toler, and father, Robert Toler; brothers, Robert Toler, Jr. and Ernest Toler; sister, Regina Turner; grandchildren, Olani and Ollian Arnold.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Shelia Thomas and Renee Garrison, both of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Kenny Zimmerman and Michael Hudson of Hillsboro, OH; uncle, David (Rosemary) Berry of Cincinnati, OH; a legacy of seven children: daughters, Paula Wallace of Jonesboro, GA and Tracy Gardner of Dayton; sons, James (Jennifer) Marshall of Cincinnati, OH, Jason Marshall, Jamal (Ariel) Arnold, Ollie “OJ” Arnold, III and Steven Arnold, all of Dayton; a host of grandchildren, Dontae Gardner Sr, Christopher Ward, NaKeisha Hughes, Mercedes Hughes-Starks, Nia Wallace, Chanda Starks, Dwuan Hill, Shazmine Murphy, Jonathan “Trey” Smith, Jordan Marshall, Sheaniya Grissom, Arielle Arnold, Abigail Marshall, Olliyia and Ollishea Arnold, Jason Wallace, Ja’shaun “Juicy” Arnold, Grace Marshall, Lesheenia  Arnold, Taylor Hunter, Samantha Marshall, Jayla, Javionna, Sincere, London and Ollie Joe Arnold; great grandchildren: Dontae Gardner, Jr,  Jeremiah Ford, Richard and Richaad Starks, Taylin Gardner, Deonte Snowden, Jr, Faith Brown, Logan Wallace-Andrews, Michael Hansen, Jr, Lariah McClain, Cataliyah Ford, Amirah Smith, ChevVy and ChevVyanne Banks, Makyah, Dwaun Jr, Damyia and Janiya Hill; a host of other relatives and friends.

Walk-through visitation 10 am-12 noon Wednesday, May 4, at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Funeral service at 12 noon. (Mask Required). Interment 11 am Thursday, May 5, at Red Oak Cemetery, Ripley, OH.
