Clara L. Kendrick, age 72, departed this life unexpectedly Saturday, July 17, 2021. Clara was a devoted church member of Germantown Church of Christ. She worked at different places: Dayton State Hospital, La Quinta Motor Inn South, Maria-Joseph Living Care Center, Maid to Order, Washington Manor North and South, Manpower Inc., and the YWCA.
Her favorite hobbies were sewing, watching movies, knitting, playing games with her great grandchildren, playing games on her tablet called (Fishdom) where she named them all her families names. Clara was a loving, gentle, kind soul who loved God.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Daisy Lee Knott-Wells and John Thomas Wells; brother, Henry T. Knott; son, Elvin “Big E” Kendrick Jr.; best friend, Margret Archie.
She leaves behind, loving daughters, Jewelle Kendrick of Dayton, Shonell (Derrick) Johnson of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Toya K., Tiasha (Kevin) B., Michael K., Monique R., Lillian Arnold, Daizhae T., D’Kyra J., Diamond J., Destiny J.; great grandchildren, TayShaun K., Brooklin P., Tyree S., Evan M., Zaydene B., Terrion W., E'Xaylehe B., Scott, Montreal; niece, Teresa Small; nephew, Timothy Smith; devoted friends, Eddie Smith, Ruth Barnes; devoted best friend and church member, Linda Williams; aide, Lucretia Ross; a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 1 pm Tuesday, August 3, at Germantown Pike Church of Christ, 4310 Germantown Pike. Visitation 12 noon until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
