Charles L. Shaneyfelt

Charles L. Shaneyfelt, age 79, was born June 12 ,1944 in Corpus Christi, Texas, and a resident of Dayton, Ohio for over 35 years. Charles departed this life Monday, November 13, 2023, at Friendship Village in Trotwood, Ohio.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Lions Club in Jacksonville, Florida and was a volunteer with the Trotwood Police Department. Charles enjoyed traveling in his RV and riding his motorcycle. He also loved his pets, a pot-bellied pig, “Peewee”; cockatoo bird, “Midnight”; dog, Webster; his chihuahua, “Lady”, who would ride with him on his motorcycle wearing her special helmet and a leather vest. Charles also loved spending time with his granddaughter and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and May Shaneyfelt.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Lora (Charles) Hernandez of Dayton, Ohio, Kelli Ann Shaneyfelt of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter, Crystal Lewis; great grandchildren, Nick Lewis and Serenity Selena Lewis; a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation 11 am- 1 pm Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Family will receive friends 12 pm- 1pm.  Livestream service begins at 1 pm.
