Charles Diggs Sr., age 74 was born in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Juanita Mills and Albert Mills, and raised in Dayton, OH. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School class of 1968. He obtained his BS from The University of Phoenix in Business Management. He retired as an Engineer and Auditor after working 30 plus years for General Motors. He was the founder and owner of Diggs and Associates Real Estate company and earned a spot in Who’s Who in America in 1989. Through the years, Charles blessed us with his creativity and artistry. His paintings, which have been in hospitals, Starbucks, galleries, and homes across the states. Charles, confessed faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age. He served as a deacon and was a devoted member of Mt. Pisgah church. Charles had an amazing smile, laughter, and his presence made others feel so at ease. He was a very caring man that would go the extra mile to help others, and many saw him as a true encourager. He was a car buff and would talk for hours enjoying a good debate. Most importantly he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Charles truly enjoyed family and connection. His beautiful spirit will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Charles transitioned from this life to be with the Lord. Charles leaves to cherish memories and celebrate his life; his devoted wife of 53 years, Cheryl Elise Diggs; children, Tina Diggs, Nikki Wingfield (Chris), and Charles Diggs Jr. (Danielle); grandchildren, Malik, Joann, Lyric, and Ava; brother, Fred Diggs (Cora); niece, Shannon Tamez (Jesse) and nephew, Shaun Diggs; In-laws (Haskle, Theresa, Denise, and Wanda); a host of other loving family members and friends.
Memorial service 11 am Monday, June 3, 2024 at Mt. Pisgah Church, 1 Diamond Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Calling hour 10 am at which time family will receive friends.
