Charis Dianne Bivens was a remarkable woman who was adored by her boys and affectionately called "Mommy." She also went by the nickname "CB" which was used by everyone who knew her. Born on July 9, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, Charis was birthed by John and Mary Bivens. She was the second oldest of six siblings and possessed a radiant intellect and unwavering loyalty.
Sadly, Charis was called to her heavenly home on August 22, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. However, in her final moments, she found solace in the comforting prayers of her family and close friends, who stood by her side.
Charis was not only a devoted mother to her own children, Paul, Jehwaun, Jehmar, and Andre, but she also played a significant role as a bonus mom to many others. She poured her heart and soul into raising and nurturing her boys, with the support of her close-knit community. Known for her loving honesty and transparent guidance, she was a pillar of strength, someone upon whom everyone could lean.
Charis excelled in her role as a master of human relations, showcasing her exceptional people skills throughout her career at the VA Medical Center. With her strong work ethic, she climbed the ranks over her 30-plus years of service, leaving a lasting impact on both colleagues and patients alike.
Charis will forever be remembered as a beacon of love, loyalty, and dependability. She was the deeply rooted tree that provided shelter and support to all who sought her counsel. Her legacy lives on, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled.
As we reflect on the life of Charis Diane Bivens, let us celebrate the beautiful memories she created and the love she shared with her boys and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Though she may no longer be physically present, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us all.
She is survived by her loving children: Paul Booker Jr. (Gabriela) from San Antonio, Texas, Jehwaun Booker (Cherly) from Dayton, Ohio, Jehmar Booker (Latosha) from Dayton, Ohio, and Andre Booker (Janelle) from Dayton, Ohio. Together, they have been blessed with twenty-two grandchildren: Deija, Nicole, Paul III, Alison, Gavin, Jehwaun Jr., Dawone, Jehqaun, Kiywaun, Tywaun, Buddy, Damarion, Kamari, Jazmyne, Summer, Jehmar Jr., Jamyia, Deonte, Nevaeh, and Samiya. And not to forget, she also cherished her eleven great-grandchildren: Jehwaun III, Jaylah, Melodi, Aubrey, Jehqaun Jr., Ples’jure, Xa’mari, and Shi’ree. Last but not least, she leaves behind five special individuals who held a special place in her heart: Vickey Blair, Yvette Bivens, John Bivens, Samantha James, and Tabitha Bivens.
