Caren Peagler Obituary

Caren Ann Peagler, age 68 departed this life on Sunday July 27, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. Caren was born November 28, 1956 to Carolyn Roberta Peagler and Curtis Peagler, in Dayton Oh.

Caren was a graduate of Fairview High School, Dayton, Oh (1975). She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology (University of Cincinnati) and an Associates of Applied Science in Accounting (Sinclair Community College).

Caren was the cultured one of the family. She spoke French, traveled Europe in junior high school, had a green thumb (inherited from her Mother), was an amazing cook, and a voracious reader. She loved animals, and was often the primary caretaker of the mini zoo often held in her childhood home - and well into adulthood. She had two goddaughters who she adored, and several unofficial godchildren as well.  

Caren was an active member of Ethan Temple Seventh-day Adventist Church where she faithfully served as a Trustee for many years and most recently a Deaconess until her health prevented her from doing so.

Caren was a respected and valued co-worker, at Prairie Quest( PQC) where she worked as an Air Force Contractor/Administrative Tech. 

She was an active and faithful member of the Pineview Neighborhood Association, where they worked to improve property values and maintain pride in the neighborhood in which she grew up.

Caren was preceded in death by her parents Carolyn Roberta Peagler and Curtis Peagler. 

She leaves to cherish her memory:(Brother) Marcus Tyler Peagler; (Sister) Cassandra Renee Powell; (Brother) Kelley Peagler (Sheila); (Niece) Kellyn Alise Peagler; (God-Daughters) Nickea Michelle Anderson and Robyne Elaine Anderson; (Special Cousins) John Gassett(Jill); (Special Friends) Sylvia Hatch, Penni Hull and Sherry Miller as well as a host of family and friends. 

Funeral service 12 pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Ethan Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 4000 Shiloh Springs Rd., Clayton, OH. Visitation 11 am- 12 pm at which time family will receive friends. Interment Woodland Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
