Calvin Willie Sims Jr.

Calvin Willie Sims Jr., age 71, of Dayton, Ohio went into eternal sleep on Thursday, November 13, 2025. Born on October 12,1954 in Pensacola, Florida to Willie and Georgelette Sims. He graduated from Kiser High School (Dayton Public Schools) and following graduation he went to work for Montgomery Paper Company. Calvin also worked at Clean City Janitor Service, Meijer Distribution Center, and later returned to Montgomery Paper Company where he retired in 2019.

Calvin was a quite easy-going soul who loved to fish, cook, and watch his San Francisco 49ers play football with his cigarette in hand. He thoroughly loved his family, especially all his grandbabies with that loving welcoming of “there’s my baby”. 

He leaves behind to cherish his memory of devoted sons Calvin J. Simpson (Kedrin) and their children Makaylen,Jazlen and Ashlen; Kevin L. Sims and his children Lil’ Kevin, Shekevia, Ke’Ana, Ke’Andre, and Angelo; Ethan and Elijah Hardin; sister Sandra Marshall (Damon) and her daughter Quiana Maxwell and son Huston P. Maxwell II; 8 great-grandchildren and special friends Rochelle Jefferson and Denise Simpson.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 24 years Marcia Sims, his parents and grandchild Keon.

Calvin’s loving spirit will forever be in our hearts, and he will be greatly missed. 

Funeral service 11 am Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am.
