Brian Timothy Moody

Brian Timothy Moody, A.K.A “Big Juice”, age 16, was born November 9, 2007, and was a lifelong resident of Dayton OH. He departed this life unexpectedly Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Brian was a freshman at Trotwood Madison High School and was a student at Emerson Academy from K-7th grade. Brian's passion from a little boy was always sports, though, he mostly enjoyed football and basketball. He played for several teams including, Dayton Swish, Dunbar Warriors, Dayton Flames, Emerson Academy, AAU teams, Dayton Airmen, and United Hoops. Brian received numerous trophies, medals, and certificates displaying his accomplishments. While playing sports Brian created close bonds with his coaches and teammates. 

Brian was known to be a mentor to his younger cousins and brothers. He put a smile on everyone's face he encountered, and was always laughing, smiling and joking. Being a jokester was one of Brian's things. If you needed to hear a story told in a hilarious way, he was the guy! In Brian's spare time, other than playing sports, he would watch old video footage of him playing in a game, while eating all kinds of hot chips. He was always there for any and everyone whenever he was needed without any hesitation. Family, friends, and coaches always gravitated to his unmeasured kindness. 

Brian is preceded in death by his grandmother, Willitha Blackshear; great- grandmother, Shirley Moody; great-great grandmother, Floretta Woods; aunt, Josie Jones; and cousin, Usherine Bateman.

Brian leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Brittany Payne; father, Curtis Moody Sr.; grandparents, Latika and Darnell Collier, Brian Payne, Rhonda Moody, and Shannon Sutton; great-grandparents, Valerie Fields and Delores Reid; siblings, Curtis, Timothy, Trayvion, Zion, Cher'Lynn, Nazhajuan, and Kambryln; aunts, Leteice, Nikki, Chelsea, Tierra, Alexis, Amber, Ashley, and Chanell; uncles, Darnell Brian Jr, Bryant, Danell, Kier, Kiyarre, and Lynell; a special cousin, Dorell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, coaches, friends and teammates.

Funeral service 11 am Friday, July 12, 2024, at Omega Baptist Church, 1821 Emerson Ave, Dayton, OH. Visitation 10 am- 11 am, at which time family will receive friends. Interment West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
