Bobby Joe Smith Sr.

Bobby J. Smith Sr., age 88, passed on September 17, 2023, at Hospice of Dayton.  He was born August 3, 1935, in Tallassee (Elmore County), AL, the son of Solomon and Lula Bell (Lovejoy) Smith Sr.

Bobby graduated from Dunbar High School, Class of 1953.  Following graduation, he served with the Army Reserve. He leaves to morn his wife of 69 years Elizabeth (Montgomery).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother and sister in-law, Solomon (Savannah) Smith Jr.

 Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter and son-in-law Marchelle (Dan) Arrington, two sons and daughter-in-law Bobby Jr. (Crystal) Smith and James (Jimmy) Smith; 8 grandchildren, Duane Arrington, Corey Madison, Dana Smith, Terrance Smith, Tenika Smith, Mallory (Smith) Wallace, Jasmine Miles, Carl Henderson. 14 great grandchildren; 3 sisters Billie H. Burns, Beatrice Smith, Lula M. Calhoun; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation 9 am- 11 am Saturday, September 23, 2023, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Avenue, Dayton, Ohio. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Livestream Funeral service begins at 11 am. Interment West Memory Gardens.
