Beverly Denise Hussey, affectionately known as Niecy, was born on September 12, 1962, in Talladega, Alabama, to the late Lucy Martin and George Tywmon. On August 26, 2025, Niecy peacefully transitioned from this life into eternal rest.
At an early age, Niecy accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, a faith that sustained her throughout her journey. For a number of years, she attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton along with her husband.
Niecy received her education at Jefferson High School in Dayton, Ohio. She later married the love of her life, Kenneth Hussey. Together, they enjoyed traveling and spending time in various cities, especially Baltimore, Maryland. Niecy loved exploring new places, and no matter where she went, she could always find the best thrift stores—turning each trip into a treasure hunt.
A true lover of fashion, Niecy was always dressed from head to toe in her unique, impeccable style. She also enjoyed playing pool, cooking delicious down-home meals, and relaxing to good music.
Niecy worked from a young age, beginning at Frisch’s in Moraine, Ohio, and later at Drug Emporium in Dayton. She went on to dedicate 21 years of service in hospitality and environmental services at Kettering Hospital until her health began to decline.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kenneth Hussey; her parents, Lucy Martin and George Tywmon; stepfather, George Martin; brothers, Don and Greg Tywmon; nephews, Greg Tatum and De’Ontay Cochran; aunts, Dorothea Hall and Mary Frances “Twiggy” Carter; and uncle, Hardy Reynolds Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving siblings: brothers, Edwin, Carl, and Mike Tywmon; sisters, Marsha Tywmon and Marci (Greg) Hines; and sister-in-law, Roberta Bankston-Leconey. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Don (Angie) Bankston, Donita (David) Hudson, and Edwin (Amber) Scott, Dawnika (Charles) McGlothan; bonus sisters, Marsha Hummons and Lisa Morgan; aunts, Annie L. Mitchell and Julia Trumbo of Cleveland, Ohio; special friends, the Thompson, Bankston, and Hummons families, Dwayne Evans, and Donna Smith; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were too numerous to name but never far from her heart.
To know Niecy was to love her. Her warmth, love, and unforgettable sense of style touched everyone who crossed her path. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
