Betty A. (Walton) Holly, born December 15, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Harry, Sr. and Margaret (Childs) Walton, transitioned from this life April 3, 2022.
Betty attended Dayton Public Schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School, Class of 1958.
Betty was a member of Wayman Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she was christened into membership at an early age. As a youth, Betty sang in the choir and was very active in Sunday school. She served on the Steward Board and the Women’s Missionary Society, as well as a class leader.
Betty married SSGT Jerome Ingram and to their union was born, son, Myron Jerome, who was the joy of her life.
Betty was an Executive Assistant for the City of Dayton and Montgomery County for thirty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents, Harry, Sr. and Margaret Walton; brothers, Harry Jr. and Calvin; sisters, Mildred Clark and Helen McCain.
Betty is survived by her dedicated and devoted son, Myron (Rychelle); grandsons, Myron, II and Myles; very special niece, Vicki Moore; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, April 14, at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St. Pastor Gerald A. Cooper, officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
