Belinda Bacon was born January 20, 1962 in Dayton, Ohio as Belinda Samuels. Growing up she was a spirited child with a vivid imagination. She enjoyed bowling and board games with family and friends. She was in the junior choir and baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church when she was a teen. She attended Roth High School as a teen then shortly after became a mom and started her family.
Belinda was preceded in death by her father, Charles Samuels; mother, Willa Samuels; sister, Janice Samuels; brother, Charles Samuels; ex-husband, John Ward; granddaughter, Christian Ward.
Belinda was a mother of four and leaves behind a stepson, Antoine Harrison; two daughters, Sequoia Richardson, Jackie Gaines (Bruce Gaines); two sons, John Ward Jr. and Christopher Ward. She had 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She also leaves behind two sisters, Diana Samuels-Gilford, Sharon Samuels; brother, David Samuels; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Belinda will be remembered best for her animated stories, her wild crazy personality, and her ever changing hair color. She was loved and she will be missed.
Funeral service 11 am Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am.
