Beatrice Combs

Beatrice Combs, a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving grandmother, beloved sister, and dear friend, peacefully passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on September 29, 1953, in Lamar, Mississippi, to Billy Richmond Jr. and Mary Lee Jones Richmond. Beatrice attended Sandflat High School, where she began cultivating the strength, compassion, and nurturing spirit that would guide her throughout her life.

She was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Briscoe Combs, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, commitment, and partnership. Beatrice was a proud and loving mother to her two sons, Christopher Shawn Combs and Tyrell Keon Combs, and a cherished mother-in-law to Tomakio Combs. She found immense joy in her role as grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Trinity Je’Nay Combs, and shared a close and loving bond with Trinity’s mother, Marvis Combs.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her two brothers Leon Richmond and Wade (Margie) Richmond. She is lovingly survived by her siblings: Olivia (Robert) Williams, Ruby (John) Fitzpatrick, Pauline (Dave) Davis, Lenell Richmond and Tracy (Mattie) Richmond. She was the fifth of eight children. She is also survived by her in-laws, with whom she shared deep respect, love, and lifelong bonds. 

Family meant everything to Beatrice, and she will forever be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering love for those she held dear. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who will cherish her memory.

Funeral Service 11 am Saturday, February 14, 2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave., Dayton, OH. Visitation 9 am- 11 am. Family will receive friends 10 am- 11 am. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
