SPICER, Batiste Rodez, born February 21, 1951 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Jack Spicer and Betty Rodez Snell, departed this life on September 30, 2021 in Columbus, Ohio where she resided with her youngest son, Devin.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She attended the former Mt. Olive United Church of Christ in Trotwood, Ohio.
She attended schools in Wheeling before moving to Dayton, Ohio. She retired from Dayton Public Schools after 35 years as a school bus driver and custodian.
Relatives and friends enjoyed her cooking, especially her macaroni and cheese, green beans and peach cobbler. She was always willing to prepare a full meal or any dish requested from anyone, especially a close circle of friends who referred to themselves as “Sisters”.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, LaShearal Spicer.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, LaTerral W. Spicer (Debra) of Springboro, OH, Devin Spicer of Columbus, OH; brother, Monteca Dardin Strange of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Tierra Wilson (Taurean) of Dayton, OH, Jasmine Caddell (Shelby) of Mason, OH, LaTerral Spicer Jr. of Springboro, OH, Devin Spicer Jr., Carter Spicer and Lola Spicer, all of Trotwood, OH; three great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held 12 noon Monday, October 11, 2021 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc. (Mask Required). Rev. Joe Whitt officiating. Calling hour 11 am-12 noon.
