Barbara Jean Stephens

Barbara Jean Stephens, age 78, born on June 20, 1947, in Dayton, OH, departed this life peacefully on March 20, 2026. She is preceded in death by Dorothy M. Dunson (mother), William E. Dunson, Sr. (father), Phyllis Y. Crawford (sister), and Russell E. Crawford (nephew). Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted son, Brian L. Dixon, loving and committed brother, William E. Dunson, Jr., and aunts, cousins, a grandniece and grandnephews. 

Barbara was a proud graduate of Jefferson Township High School and worked throughout Dayton at several companies before finally retiring from her long-held position at AT&T / Ohio Bell. Barbara loved spending time with family and friends, new adventures from traveling, trying new places to eat, enjoying music and watching comedy sitcoms and movies. She was always one for enjoying and sharing a good laugh with others.

Barbara will truly be missed by all of her loving family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be 11am on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at House of Wheat Funeral Home, 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH. Visitation from 9am – 11am. Family will receive friends from 10am – 11am. Interment at West Memory Gardens.
