With profound sorrow yet unwavering faith, we celebrate the life and legacy of Minister Anthony “Tony” Jordan, Jr., who departed this life on March 11, 2025, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Tony was adventurous and fearless, with a heart drawn to the beauty of nature. His fondest childhood memories were made on his grandparents' farm in Kentucky, where he spent countless days fishing and helping with farm work. These moments instilled in him a love for the outdoors, hard work, and the simple joys of life.
Tony proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. His service brought him alongside the Marines, a placement that suited his bold and courageous spirit. After his time in the military, he returned home and reconnected with his church, Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. It was there that he began to take notice of Bonita, a familiar face from childhood who was also growing in her faith and service. What started as a renewed friendship blossomed into a love that would span 28 beautiful years of marriage.
From their union came their beloved children, Antoinette and Joshua Jordan, who were not only his pride and joy but also his partners in love and care.
Tony’s passion for ministry was affirmed when he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Christian Ministry with a Concentration in Church Planting from New Life Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. His dedication to his studies and calling was evident, as he graduated Salutatorian of his 2014 class. This accomplishment reflected his deep commitment to spreading the Gospel and equipping himself to serve God’s people effectively.
Together, Tony and Bonita built a life dedicated to both family and service. They became successful entrepreneurs, owning and operating Jordan’s Janitorial, a thriving business specializing in commercial janitorial and floor care across more than ten states. Yet, their greatest work was in ministry. As the founders of God’s Anointed Ministries (G.A.P.), they dedicated themselves to serving at-risk youth and their families, creating a safe and nurturing environment every Friday and Saturday in partnership with churches, community centers, and local leaders.
Tony was born to the late Rev. Anthony Jordan, Sr., and Shirley Jordan. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Anthony Jordan, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Rev. Robert and LuNell Brown; Uncle Robert Brown, Jr.; and paternal grandparents, Joseph and Cleola Jordan; aunts Rosa Lee Boyd, Josephine Jordan, Patricia Harbison, Betty Owens, and Veronica Owens; uncles Claude Boyd, Sr., Joseph Lowell, James, and Arthur Jordan.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife and caregiver, Bonita; his loving children and caregivers, Antoinette and Joshua; his beloved mother, Shirley Jordan; his brother, Todd (Kimberly) Jordan; mother & father in law, Joe & Germaine Smith; uncles Willie James (Brenda) Brown of Arizona and Michael Brown; aunts Linda (Parker) Burks, Donna Christman, Roberta Robinson, and Gloria Brown; paternal uncle Alonzo Jordan; aunts Ozella Jordan and Marilyn Finley; along with a host of extended family, friends, and spiritual sons and daughters.
Tony’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. He was a man of great strength, unwavering commitment, and deep compassion. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of faith, family, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
