Andrew Lewis Britton Jr.

Andrew Lewis Britton Jr., age 92, of Dayton, OH was born on August 13, 1932 in Brookneal, VA to the late Andrew Lewis Britton Sr. and Nelly A. Britton. Andrew departed this life Monday, February 3, 2025.

Upon graduation from high school in 1950, Andrew enlisted in the United States armed forces.  A Retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 30 years, Andrew served both in the Korean and Vietnam War.  He was the recipient of the National Defense Service medal, good conduct medal, and 2 Bronze Star medals. He also retired from Motorola after 20 years of service.

After moving to Dayton, OH, Andrew joined Bethel Church of God in Christ where he was a member for over 40 years.  He obtained his associate degree from Sinclair Community College.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winifred Mae (McDaniel) Britton; siblings, Rachel Yuilla, Franklin Britton, Phyllis Moore, Doris Tweedy.

Andrew leaves to cherish his memory son, Franklin Britton; daughter, Deborah McDaniel; sister, Betty Kain; grandson, Tyron McDaniel; great grandchildren, Tyrell, King, Kamorii, Korii, Cherish McDaniel; a host of nieces and nephews that has been with him their whole life and will love and miss him.

Funeral service 11 am Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Bethel Church of God in Christ,1120 Germantown St., Dayton, OH.  Visitation 10 am - 11 am at which time family will receive friends.  Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home.
