William Lee, I Obituary

LEE, William Samuel, born March 24,1942 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Willie Lee Hopson and Louvenia Lee Daniel, departed this life Tuesday, February 19, 2019 surrounded by family at his home. He moved to Dayton at a young age, professed Christ as an adult, and became a member of Christian Missionary Baptist Church. William was a graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of '61, a retiree of General Motors and a member of The Toros Motorcycle Club. William was affectionately known as “Brother” or “Bro. Lee” by family, friends and club members who loved him.

William was a PROUD Man, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and brother. Also, a father figure to many young men and women within his neighborhood and around the city of Dayton. William wasn't a shy man! The younger generation would say he had "No Filter" and would sometimes rub you the wrong way with his tough love and hard truth! He loved to shoot pool, loved blues music, loved to ride his motorcycle until his last days, and took pride in grooming the yard of his home. One could say he was a tad bit of a control freak or perhaps a perfectionist. William was a giving man, regularly taking time to cut a neighbor's yard, shovel snow, trim and remove branches and leaves as well. He took great pleasure in doing those things as a side hustle and for his daily exercise with those neighbors being very appreciative!

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 42 years, Evangeline Marie Lee; son, Darryl Lee. William leaves to cherish memories: sisters, Rosa (John) Williams, Lorraine Reeves and Yolonda Hawkins; sons, Mark (Tracey) Lee, William II (Faith) Lee, William (Nancy) Owens, RaShawn Lee, Ryan Lee; daughter, Tiara (Kevin) Dandy; a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Mt. Pisgah Church, 1 Diamond Ave. Visitation 9 am at the church until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment West Memory Gardens.
