Virgil Sheppard, Jr.

SHEPPARD, Jr., Virgil, age 62, affectionately known as Dancing/Radio Man, born December 29, 1955 in Wedowee, Alabama, transitioned on March 25, 2018 in Sylacauga, Alabama. He received Christ at an early age. He attended Wedowee High School and moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1971 to be with his family. He was a sweet and loving person who was loved by everyone who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Sr. and Ceola Pate Sheppard; nephews, Tolie Damien Pate, Sr. and Anthony Pate Smith, Jr. He is survived by his brothers, Charles Dorsey of Pasadena, CA, Anthony (Marva) Smith of Dayton, Fred Sheppard of Atlanta, GA, Dewitt Sheppard (Tracy) of Wedowee, AL; sisters, Regina and Patricia Pate of  Dayton, Mary Anderson of Birmingham, AL, Faye and Lisa Sheppard of  Wedowee, AL; uncle, Eddie Pate of Dayton; aunt, Corrine (Fred) Luteraan of  Wedowee, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.  Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Phillips Temple C.M.E. Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd. Pastor James E. Washington officiating.
