Shirley Holley Logan

LOGAN, Shirley Holley “Ma dear or Dear”, age 95, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Born February 22, 1922 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Allen and Julia Holley and resided in Dayton since the early 1940s. She was a former employee of Joe Franks, Marilyn’s and Candy Cane Restaurants, and a certified caregiver. She was a member of Salem M. B. Church for 60+ years, where she served in many ministries.

Preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and James Holly; sisters, Allie Lockett, Geraldine Harris; granddaughter, Robin Spencer.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Medley, Patricia Combs; brother, Berry Holley; sister, Ova Mae Towns; grandchildren, Tara (Victor) Rowe, Timothy Cartwright, LaShawn Spencer; 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, spiritual sisters, other relatives and friends.

Service will be held 1 pm Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Pastor Tyrone Bonner officiating. Visitation 10 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm.
