Roland K. Garrett

Roland K. Garrett, age 50, born December 7, 1968 in Dayton, Ohio, transitioned to his heavenly home Monday, August 19, 2019.

He was educated in the Dayton Public School System. He attended Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Roland is preceded in death by his father, Steven Garrett, Sr.; brother, Roderick Garrett; sister, Carla Garrett; grandmother, Vadis Sebree; his dogs, Conrad and Cry Baby.

Roland has left to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Rochelle “Shelly” Tall; mother, Felicia Garrett; children, Lavonda Locklin, Shamar Davis (Tara), Shamaria Davis (Jaron), Tracey Garrett, Adrian Garrett (DeVonne), Shirelle Garrett (Brandon) and Tylar Garrett; stepson, Jeffrey “Jazzy” Tall; sisters, Robin Garrett, Nikki Smith (Charles); brothers, Steven Garrett, Jr., Michael Garrett (Connie); grandchildren, Shamiya, Nijah, Gary, Ariah, Janiya, London, Brandon, Jr., Daylan, Jordyn, Blake, Aliya, Blayze, Aubrey, Sincere; special nephew, Trammell Garrett; aunts, May Grant, Effie Lou Kendall, Susie Jackson, Marilyn “AuntSweet” Rutledge; uncle, Arthur Jackson, Jr.; mother-in-law, “Mammaw” Charlene Hall; sister-in-law, Tammi Byrd; brother-in-law, Victor Byrd; special friends, Sentell Smith, Mark Rutledge, Dave Wright, Jerome Wright, Tony Dixon and Teresa Stevens; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held 10 am Friday, August 23, 2019 at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church, 3375 W. Siebenthaler Ave. Visitation 9 am at which time family will receive friends. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
