Robert E. Lee Sr., affectionately known as “Roebuck”, age 70, born August 24, 1949, departed this life unexpectedly August 27, 2019. He graduated from Wenonah High School, Michigan, Class of 1967. Robert served in the U. S. Army in 1970. Later, he worked as a roofer for a number of years until he was disabled.
He was a very loving, caring, compassionate and devoted husband, father, grandfather, cousin and friend. He would go out of his way for anyone no matter who they were. He was a devoted Bengals fan. He loved to cook “BBQ” and make his own homemade sauce which was his specialty. In the last couple of years, he began to really just live and finally enjoy life by traveling a lot with his wife. He loved spending time with his grandkids, and as one would ask, “Do you have school today Roebuck?” he would say, “I gotta go get Ryah from school see ya’ll in a min”! He looked forward to that every day. He enjoyed calling his son Boosie for a haircut, and as another would say, “I see Boosie done gave you a Skinny again”! He enjoyed joking and laughing with the ones he loved or didn’t even know. He never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses G. and Pearlie Mae Lee; sister, Mildred Showers; brother, Ulysses G. Lee II; brothers- in-law, Jimmie Showers and Connie Leon Henderson; son, Carnell G. Lee.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda F. Lee; sons, Robert E. Lee Jr., Cedric A. Hutchinson, Ulysses G. III (Dawnyell) Lee, Mark A. Williams; devoted daughter, La’Tasha (Terry) Thomas; sisters, Novella Henderson, Juanita (Eugene) Craig; brother, Johnny (Peggy) Lee of Cleveland, Ohio; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren; special friend, Charles (Brick) Monroe; special brothers-in-laws, Eugene Craig (Apt) and Joe Hutchinson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Visitation 9 am at the funeral home until time of service. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment 10:15 am Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Dayton National Cemetery.
