Robert W. Hawes, Sr.

HAWES, Sr., Robert W. “Bone”, age 68, of Dayton, Ohio, transitioned from this life December 5, 2018 at Sycamore Medical Center. He retired from GM/Delphi after 34 years of service. Robert was a 1968 graduate of Jefferson Township High School and a 1975 graduate of Central State University. Preceded in death by his father, James L. Hawes; stepmother, Ann Hawes; one brother. He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted wife, Cynthia; loving son, Robert Jr.; granddaughters, Alyssa, Alaina and Ashlyn Hawes; mother, Mildred Chatfield; stepmother, Lonnie Hawes; brothers, James L. Jr. (Vernia) and Jerry (LaVerne) Hawes, Elonza (Terene) Chatfield; sister, Jeanette Brown; uncle, Charles Hawes; in-laws, family and friends. Visitation 4-7 pm Thursday, December 13, at House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc., 2107 N. Gettysburg Ave. Family will receive friends 5-7 pm. Funeral service 1 pm Friday, December 14, at Phillips Temple CME Church, 3620 Shiloh Springs Rd. Pastor James Washington officiating, Pastor William E. Bailey of St. Peter’s Baptist Church House of Restoration, eulogist. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
