CARTER, Pearl Lee (nee: Johnson), was born June 3, 1934 in Decatur, Georgia to Thomas and Elizabeth Holt Johnson. The Johnsons later moved to Dayton where Pearl was educated in the Dayton Public School System. Her hobbies included her love of cooking, singing and her passion for gardening. Along with enjoying her three daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she, also, was blessed to have 58 years with her life-mate and husband, Hollin. Pearl dedicated her life to Jehovah God and symbolized that by baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Preceded in death by many loved ones: grandson whom she considered “Her Boy”, Derrick “Moonie” Hill; brothers, Eddie (Georgia) and Lucius (Ida) Johnson; sisters, Lizzie (Medford) Williams, LuLa Belle Hayes, Bertha (Bill) Davis and Alean Johnson. Those left to cherish fond memories, her devoted husband, Hollin Carter; daughters, Cynthia Hicks, Debra Hill and Karen Hill; six grandchildren including devoted and special granddaughter, Erica “Twinkle” Hill of Dayton, and grandson, Earen Hill of Columbus, OH; 15 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Annie Jane Carter, Debra Ann Carter of Anniston, AL; a host of nieces, nephews including special nephew, Chris Darrien Wilson of Dayton and special great niece, Jeanete Mills-Willis of Raleigh, NC; a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1015 Liscum Drive. Bro. Gerald Black officiating. Visitation 10 am-1 pm. Family will receive friends 12-1 pm. Interment West Memory Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc. Special thanks to Hospice of Dayton.
