Myron Corley Obituary

Myron Bronell Corley, born June 22, 1971 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Milton Bronell Corley and Rebecca Corley, transitioned from this life to his Heavenly Father, Friday, October 11, 2019. In infancy, he later moved to Dayton, Ohio.

At an early age, Myron came to live with his grandfather, Deacon Walter Corley and beloved grandmother, Nannie Mae Corley where he was nurtured and taught the love of Jesus Christ. He was baptized at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. H. L. Buckman, where he served as a Junior Deacon. He often expressed his love for God.

Myron was an outstanding athlete in High School, earning a scholarship to Youngstown University, later, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree. His favorite sports teams were Ohio State and the Dallas Cowboys. He had a love for football, inherited from his uncle Michael John who groomed him in his earlier years.

He was a loving father to his girls, Monica and Myra and his son, Myron Jr. Often sharing their accomplishments with family and friends.

Preceded in death by father, Milton Bronell Corley; grandmother, Nannie Mae Corley, grandfather, Deacon Walter Corley; maternal grandmother, Betty Frazier; uncle, Richard Corley.

He leaves to cherish his memory, mother, Rebecca Corley; daughters, Monica and Myra Corley, and their mother, Dionne; son, Myron Jr.; loving girlfriend, Amanda Spitler; aunts, Micheline John, Sherry Mae, Mary Corley, Margret Booker, Sadie Melson; uncle, Walter Corley and special uncle, Michael John; devoted friends, Nolan Lester, Shaun Roberts; dear cousins who loved him.

Funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, October 18, 2019 at Greater St. John M.B. Church, 4200 Germantown Pike. Visitation 10 am until time of service. Family will receive friends a ½ hour prior to service. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
