Michael L. Lathern

LATHERN, Michael L., age 67, born February 25, 1950 in Bethel, KY, was called home to be with the Lord August 2, 2017. Michael was a graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, Class of 1969, and a very proud veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, having served two years in Vietnam. He worked for the Dayton Veterans Administration Medical Center for 15 years and continued his government service with Wright-Patterson AFB for 29 years. Aside from Michael’s hobbies, his greatest loves and interests were his wife, family and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Homer Lathern; brother, Jesse Lathern. Michael leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife of 24 years, Diane Wortham-Lathern; mother, Audrey Scruggs-Lathern; daughters, LaTonya McCallister, Dionne Lathern; son, Brian Lathern; sisters, Linda, Deloris and Geanetta Lathern, Carmio (Loven) Neal, Laura Fields; special cousin, Betty Joe Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service 1 pm Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Agape Bible Fellowship Church, 2560 N. Main St. Interment Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation 12 pm at which time family will receive friends.
